Kara Tointon was this year’s somewhat unsurprising winner of Strictly Come Dancing. Most are in agreement that she was indeed a worthy winner but Kara got more than just the Glitterball from the series! She and dance partner, Artem Chigvintsev are now romantically involved and in chat shows since the end of the dance series, Kara has spoken emotionally and candidly of the new relationship.

But we’re more interested in the dancing than the gossip at Ballroom Central and we were delighted to see Kara win the series. Despite the undoubtedly wonderful entertainment of Ann Widdecombe and Matt Baker’s skilled dancing, we can’t help but think the best dancer won. Kara won the judges over very early on in the series and it seems she was a winner with the voting public too, who ultimately crowned her the winner of the 2010 series.

Of course, as is always the case, as soon as one series is finished there’s speculation about the next. And we’re just as curious as anyone about who is likely to be appearing next year. We would personally like to some unexpected contestants taking part. David Beckham, perhaps? Maybe he could compete against wife, Victoria? Or are we just wishful thinking here?

Oh well, time will tell.

That just leaves one question? What do we do with our Saturday nights until next Winter?
